On Sunday Pimlico Plumbers were at the annual ‘Back on Track’ event being held at Sandown Park, with a team of four PP drivers – Dan Gibson (Formula Renault Clio Driver), engineer Matt Wood (Formula Ford Driver), Security Steve Walker (fast response police driver) and controller Charlotte (petrolhead).
The event is for such a great cause, raising as much as possible for injured soldiers and all put together by Lesley Reynolds and Dr Aamer Khan, who work closely with the soldiers.
The weather just about held out for us and it was a fantastic family day.
Despite a few mechanical issues with the kart, we were holding strong in 3rd place at one point…but we ended on a great 8th place (out of 25).
Our mystery celebrity guest to join us was World Karting Championship competitor Laura Tillett who was a great addition to the team.
It was a tough race and so close the whole way through but congratulations to team ‘Dee’s Delights’ who took away to the title!
But the main success of the day was the great amount raised for such a wonderful cause, and so many there in support.
Well done to team PP – Dan, Charlotte, Steve and Matt (who knew we had racing drivers in our Pimlico Plumbers team!).
Also, there’s a short video clip on the event here.
